Northborough and Southborough Rotary will kick off its third annual wellness program later this month. For those of you who made resolutions to develop some healthy habits this year, there’s still time to sign up. Here are all the details.
Looking to get healthier in 2012? If you want to drop 5 lbs. or 50 lbs.…if you want to learn what a healthy diet looks like…if you want to begin to develop a healthier lifestyle…then come to this 12 week program beginning January 18th sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Northborough and Southborough in partnership with Northborough Recreation, Westborough Tennis & Swim Club and the YMCA Boroughs Family branch, Westborough. The number of pounds lost in the first year was 1,356!! And the winning team had an overall % decrease in body weight of 10%!!
Formerly called Biggest Loser/Winning Fitness, the program has been revamped to be even more fun and effective. Each weekly session will consist of a private weigh-in; followed by a motivational time where everyone is encouraged to share struggles and victories with fellow participants. That will be followed by a discussion led by respected experts in the fields of nutrition, diet, exercise, lifestyle and more. After the talk there will be a 30 minute exercise session (zumba, cardio, dance, resistance, etc.) led by qualified instructors where participants can burn a few calories. You are encouraged to form a team of four to six members or we can place you on a team. The winning team will be awarded a cash prize!! Numerous “wellness” door prizes will be awarded throughout the program.
