According to the Metrowest Daily News, funeral services for Eric Green, the Trottier seventh grader who passed away last week, will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm at St. Matthew Parish (105 Southville Road).
The Southborough community continues to mourn Eric’s death, particularly his friends and peers at Trottier, many of whom have penned touching tributes to their classmate.
Students in Southborough do not have school on Monday and Tuesday, and Trottier Principal Keith Lavoie said the long weekend is a good time for families to come together. “The sadness and grieving process will continue for many students for some time, and we know that the upcoming long weekend will be an especially important time for children and parents to connect,” Lavoie wrote in a letter to parents last week.
In a letter to the MWDN, Eric’s parents Peter and Suzy said the popular 13-year-old had experienced occasional mild seizures for the past 15 months, but doctors told them the condition was not serious and did not require medication. His parents say Eric’s airway may have become blocked during a seizure on Thursday leading to his death.
Update 1/15/2012: More details on the funeral arrangements have been made available.
A funeral Mass will be held Monday, Jan. 16, at 1 p.m., at St. Matthews Church, 18 Highland St., Southborough. Burial will be private. After the Mass, Eric’s family will gather at St. Matthews Parish Center with family and friends to celebrate Erics life.

i will most likely be there. poor eric.
I hear that the ARHS boys hockey team will wear green for their game Monday evening in honor of Eric, fans are encouraged to wear green as well.
Eric Green was an amazing and smart boy. I had enjoyed having te chance to meet him. And i also got to spend every tuesday thursday an friday with Eric for big band in te mornings. I had wanted to get to know Eric more, but i never got the chance. I was very very sad when i heard of his death, because the big band is a place where people get to have fun and do what they love: Play music. And a special bond formed in this big band this year, and we had great talent in the big band this year, including Eric. Eric was very talented at the trumpet.
From what i have heard and known about Eric, i know that he must hve been the greatest friend you could have. And he was very nice and he had a great personality. And Eric’s family will not be the only ones taking the greif of our great loss of eric, because i, Andrew Travins, and i hope the rest of the town of Southborough, will rise TOGETHER and AS ONE, and SHARE the greif of our loss of Eric, and we will make it through these hard times, TOGETHER.
I am most definable going to his funeral . Even though it will be hard, I want to show my love and support for the whole Green family.

Rest in piece Eric<3
My daughter is a senior with Eric’s sister at Algonquin.
She was one of many Algonquin students performing at the Central Districts Concert at Mechanics Hall in Worcester today, where the chorus dedicated the song “Danny Boy” to Eric.
It’s such a tragedy, words can’t describe the pain we’re all feeling for the Green family.
im so sorry to all you ERIC friends :[
I’m going to go. It’s going to be hard but I went to school with him and want to show the Greens how much Eric touched my life.
I will be there to show my love and support for the family.
