Eric C. Green, 12, of Southborough, died Jan. 12, 2012, at home, after experiencing a seizure.
He leaves his parents, Peter M. and Suzanne H. (Heinlen) Green, his brother, Alexander, and his sister, Kristen, all of Southborough. He also leaves his paternal grandparents, Eugene and Rosemary Green of Brookline; his maternal grandfather, Richard Heinlen of Farmington Hills, Mich.; his aunts, Karen, Nancy, Mary Kay and Margaret; uncles, John and David; and 13 cousins. His maternal grandmother, Catherine Heinlen, predeceased him. He was born in Boston and previously lived in Newton.
Eric was a seventh grade student at P. Brent Trottier Middle School, Southborough, where he was an outstanding student. This past year he was proud to receive the P.A.C.E. Award (Positive Attitude Consistent Effort) at his school. In sports, Eric played soccer, baseball and basketball, but his true passion was lacrosse. Eric was also a talented trumpet player and was a member of his schools jazz band. Eric loved the outdoors and the mountains. Many family vacations centered around hiking, skiing and snowboarding.
A funeral Mass will be held Monday, Jan. 16, at 1 p.m., at St. Matthews Church, 18 Highland St., Southborough. Burial will be private. After the Mass, Eric’s family will gather at St. Matthews Parish Center with family and friends to celebrate Eric’s life.
Eric loved music and animals, especially tigers, so, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Trottier Middle School Music Department, 49 Parkerville Road, Southborough, MA 01772, or the World Wildlife Fund, 1250 24th St. NW, Washington, DC 20090-7180.
