Selectmen meeting to be televised live tonight (with POLL)

I’ve long thought Board of Selectmen meetings would be more fun with a glass of wine in hand, and now those of you at home this evening will be able to put my theory to the test. Starting tonight, Board of Selectmen meetings will be broadcast live on public access television.

Selectman John Rooney said the live broadcasts will help residents stay informed with less personal inconvenience. He said he would like to see a system put in place to allow viewers to questions via email or other electronic form, but there are no provisions for that just yet.

If you’d like to watch live to see what goes on at tonight’s BOS meeting (agenda here), tune in at 6:00 pm to the Government channel, that’s channel 12 on Charter and channel 37 on Verizon. If you’re not able to watch live, replays are available generally two days following each recorded meeting. Check out the schedule here.

So, will you tune in? Take the My Southborough poll below. (Note: If you’re reading this via the My Southborough Daily email, you’ll need to visit the blog to vote or view results.)

It would be pretty easy to take questions on a facebook page or via twitter. I like it though! I’ve never been to BOS meeting, and I’m looking forward to tuning in for some of it tonight.
