For the past several years, Southborough mother Jeanne Vanni battled cancer. Yesterday she lost her fight at the age of 48.
After being diagnosed with a rare form of stomach cancer, Jeanne underwent treatment and thought she had beaten the disease, but in 2010 she learned the cancer had returned. Friends and family held several fundraisers for her that year to help offset the expense of mounting medical bills.
Jeanne leaves behind her husband Scott and two young sons, one a sixth-grader at Trottier and the other a third-grader at Woodward. Trottier students observed a moment of silence in Jeanne’s memory this morning.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 29, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at Morris Funeral Home (40 Main St. Southborough). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 30, at 10:00 am at St. Matthews Parish (105 Southville Road, Southborough). Burial will follow in the Southborough Rural Cemetery.
An obituary is posted here.
