Southborough police log (1/23/12 – 1/27/12): Vandalized mailboxes and cows on the tracks

Monday, January 23, 2012

  • 8:56 am – A resident of Breakneck Hill Road reported that their mailbox was vandalized. A report was filed on the incident.
  • 10:26 am – Officers responded to Southville Road to assist in a dispute a resident was having with their contractor. The situation was eventually worked out.
  • 12:10 pm – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from an Atwood Road residence.
  • 12:45 pm – A motorist reported multiple stop sign violations at the corner of Boston Road and Main Street. Patrols will be increased in this area to address the complaint.
  • 1:24 pm – A Red Gate Lane resident reported a loose, (small) white dog with tags in the area. The Animal Control Officer was notified.
  • 3:29 pm – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Turnpike Road business.
  • 3:56 pm – Officers investigated a two car, motor vehicle accident near Framingham Road and Boston Road. No injuries were reported from the scene.
  • 6:19 pm – A motorist reported a tow truck driver operating their vehicle in a reckless manner. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the operator.

Tuesday, January 24, 2012

  • 4:25 am – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Turnpike Road business.
  • 8:29 am – An East Main Street resident reported fraudulent charges to her credit card. The responding officer took a report, and the information was passed on to the Detective Unit.
  • 1:51 pm – An Oregon Road resident reported a case of fraud involving a Craigslist Ad. The responding officer took a report, and the information was passed on to the Detective Unit.
  • 3:11 pm – An officer responded to a Fairview Drive residence to take a report of vandalism done to the resident’s mailbox. The post of mailbox was damaged at some point during the night. A report was filed on the incident.
  • 5:03 pm – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Ledge Hill Road residence.
  • 5:11 pm – Officers responded to a Johnson Road residence for an out-of-control female at the residence. Responding officers were able to work out the situation to everyone’s satisfaction.
  • 6:18 pm – A well-being check was conducted on a Parkerville Road resident.
  • 11:59 pm – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Turnpike Road business.

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

  • 7:58 am – A caller reported two cows walking along the train tracks. MBTA was notified of the incident.
  • 10:01 am – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at an Oregon Road residence.
  • 10:18 am – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Woodland Road residence.
  • 11:29 am – A Davis Road resident reported a suspicious white van in the neighborhood. The driver of the van was located, and it was confirmed that he was collecting donations for Southborough Firefighters.
  • 1:09 pm – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Glenwood Road residence.
  • 3:03 pm – An officer was flagged down by a taxi driver who stated that his customer had exited his cab without paying the full fare. The passenger was located and payment arrangements were made between to the two.
  • 4:25 pm – ARRESTED: A Turnpike Road resident was arrested on an active arrest warrant that was issued out of Natick District Court.
  • 5:09 pm – A medical was reported at a Newton Street business.
  • 5:40 pm – Ashland Police Department requested assistance from Southborough Police in checking for a vehicle at a Turnpike Road residence.
  • 7:15 pm – A Jericho Hill Road resident reported receiving harassing phone calls at his home. Officers took a report, and a follow up investigation is being done in regards to the incident.
  • 7:51 pm – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Framingham Road.
  • 8:59 pm – A Woodland Road resident reported receiving rude text messages from an unknown person. The responding officer filed a report on the incident.

Thursday, January 26, 2012

  • 5:03 am – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Constitution Drive residence.
  • 8:04 am – Officers investigated a two car, motor vehicle accident on Parkerville Road. An accident report was filed, and no injuries were reported from the scene of the accident.
  • 9:53 am – Officers investigated a two car, motor vehicle accident on Parkerville Road. Information was exchanged, and no injuries were reported from the accident scene.
  • 10:12 am – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Turnpike Road business.
  • 10:22 am – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Southville Road business.
  • 12:46 pm – A medical was reported at a Newton Street business.
  • 5:46 pm – Officers investigated a two car, motor vehicle accident on Turnpike Road. No injuries were reported from the scene of the accident.
  • 6:13 pm – A Leonard Drive resident was arrested during a motor vehicle accident involving three vehicles on Turnpike Road. The woman was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of an Intoxicating Liquor and Operating to Endanger.

Friday, January 27, 2012

  • 1:47 am – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Deerfoot Road.
  • 2:25 am – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Turnpike Road business.
  • 2:58 am – An officer on patrol requested Southborough Fire to respond to Walgreens on Turnpike Road, after detecting an odor of natural gas in the area. SFD responded and investigated the incident.
  • 7:43 am – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Constitution Drive residence.
  • 9:09 am – A motorist reported a vehicle blocking the roadway on Turnpike Road near Parkerville Road. The vehicle had left the area before the responding officer’s arrival.
  • 10:23 am – A resident of Latisquama Road reported a Tractor Trailer unit had just travelled down the road. Responding officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
  • 12:24 pm – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Blackthorn Road residence.
  • 2:38 pm – A Graystone Way resident reported observing a coyote in his back yard. The Animal Control Officer was notified of the coyote sighting.
  • 4:17 pm – A medical was reported at a Marlboro Road residence.
  • 4:26 pm – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Main Street residence.
  • 4:36 pm – Officers investigated a panic alarm from a Strawberry Hill Road residence.
  • 5:11 pm – Officers responded to a Leonard Drive residence to investigate suspicious behavior at a vacant home. The suspicious parties were determined to be family members of the resident.
  • 5:31 pm – Officers assisted a Mass State Trooper at an accident scene on Turnpike Road.
  • 5:46 pm – Officers served a Restraining Order to a Kidder Lane resident.
  • 6:06 pm – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Turnpike Road business.
  • 10:59 pm – A patrol officer investigated suspicious person(s) gathered in the parking lot of a Turnpike Road business. The group checked out o.k., and were sent on their way.
  • 11:22 pm – Officers investigated a suspicious motor vehicle that was parked at a Turnpike Road business. The officer reported that the vehicle checked out o.k.
