Dr. John Edward Bullock, D.D.S., 68, died unexpectedly Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012. He was born in Baltimore, Md., the son of the late Lawrence Bullock and Doris (Carr) Bullock.
Dr. Bullock is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Susan J. (Duckworth) Bullock of Framingham. He was the devoted and loving father of Christopher J. Bullock and his wife, Michelle, and their daughter, Ava R. Bullock, all of Hopkinton, Brian J. Bullock and his son, Owen J. Bullock, both of Southborough, Caitlin M. Bullock of Denver, Colo., and Stephen C. Bullock of Chicago, Ill. He was the brother of Brian Bullock and his wife, Kathy, and Neil Bullock. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Dr. Bullock had resided in Framingham for over 45 years and previously lived in Dorsey, Md. He received his bachelor of science in psychology from the University of Maryland, his D.D.S. from the Maryland Dental School and his doctoral degree in prosthodontics from Tufts Dental School. He served his country proudly as a lieutenant colonel in the United States Navy and was stationed in Antarctica. He was a well known and notable prosthodontic dentist in Wellesley for the past 38 years. Dr. Bullock was a member of the Crown Council, the Massachusetts Dental Society and held several offices in the society over the years and served on the Peer Review Committee. He was also a professor at Tufts Dental School in the Prosthodontic Department.
He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed both water skiing and downhill skiing. He enjoyed gardening at his residence, being at the beach and time spent boating with his family. He also loved staying on top of the latest in technology and scientific advancements. He played tennis and was a longtime supporter of the Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather to his family and will be greatly missed by all of the lives he touched.
Visitations are Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 4 to 7 p.m., at John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rte. 30), Wayland. His funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 29, at 10 a.m., at Edwards Church, 39 Edwards St., Framingham.
