The Zoning Board of Appeals last night continued their review of Madison Place, a proposed 140-unit 40B apartment building along Route 9 east near Crystal Pond Road. Yesterday’s discussion centered on traffic. Reports the Metrowest Daily News:
(Traffic consultant Lloyd Bristol) said 4,732 cars pass through the intersection at Crystal Pond Road in one hour during the evening commute, 2,487 going east and 2,245 going west.
He projected that the complex would add 72 trips in the morning rush hour, which would be between a 1.5 and 2 percent increase in the traffic on the road at that time.
Bristol said the intersection is already poorly rated, but that the additional traffic wouldn’t have much of an impact.
“We’re not going to make it any better, but it’s not going to make it worse,” he said.
