The Southborough Fire Department is partnering with Marlborough-based Furnishing Options to collect items for those who were left temporarily homeless by last week’s six-alarm fire at the Lake Williams condo complex in Marlborough.
You can drop off linens and small household items – sheets, quilts, towels, blankets, cookware, and kitchen items – at the fire station through Thursday, May 12. Donations may be new or used. If used, please make sure they are clean and in good condition without rips or stains.
Furnishing Options also accepts larger furniture items like dressers, bookshelves, and dining room tables, but please don’t bring those to the fire station. To make arrangements for furniture donations, contact Furniture Options directly at 774-348-4922, or email Southborough coordinator Patricia Burns Fiore at pbfiore@verizon.net. Note that because of health requirements, Furnishing Options does not accept mattresses or sleep sofas.
For more information, visit the Furnishing Options website (www.furnishingoptions.org).
Donations can be dropped off at the Fire Station through Thursday, May 12. (Sorry, Susan, I gave you the wrong date.)
Let’s help our our Marlborough neighbors!!
Thanks, Patti. I updated the date in the post so it’s correct now!
Wondering where a small microwave fits in –under kitchen items or furniture? I have a small one that I would love to donate
Hi Carrie
Drop it off at the fire station when you have a chance. FO does not normally accept electronics but these are special circumstances so it will be put to good use. Thank you! Thank you!
