Did you know Algonquin offers a preschool as part of its Early Childhood Development program? They do, and the Tiny Tomahawks Preschool located at the high school is now accepting registrations for the 2012-2013 school year.
Here’s more information on the program:
We are fortunate at Algonquin to have a new facility for our learning lab preschool. High school students enrolled in Early Childhood Development and Early Childhood Education classes taught by Mrs. Loughlin work under her supervision in the preschool as well as classroom instruction. This is a meaningful way to observe, experience and implement concepts learned in the classroom almost immediately. The high school teachers interact with the preschoolers and present many of the theme-based lessons with supervision. We often have a one to one ratio which allows us to focus on specific needs of each child. The children enjoy interacting with the teenagers who have chosen these elective courses.
The preschool is dedicated to providing a high quality experience in every way. Children’s self esteem and independence are our primary goals. We focus on reading readiness, printing readiness and math readiness. Language development, creative arts, dramatic play and music are among our daily activities. Age appropriate playground and toilet facilities are also on site.
We offer two sessions one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The children must be three years of age by September 1st and toilet trained. The tuition is $400 for the entire year and is billed monthly.
You can find a registration form online. For more information, contact Candace Loughlin at cloughlin@nsboro.k12.ma.us.
