A year ago today, most of us were without power as Tropical Storm Irene blew through town. The outer bands of Irene began drenching Southborough on Saturday, August 27. The real action hit on Sunday morning, with more heavy rain and wind gusts that knocked down trees and and branches all over town.
Many were without power for days. Roads were blocked, Summer Nights was postponed, town facilities were closed, the opening of school was nearly delayed, a fire damaged the Boland Pumping Station, and the town was cleaning up for weeks.
If you’d like to relive the drama that was Irene, here are some related posts from a year ago.
Thanks, again, for all of your great help!
