Itsy Bitsy Yoga® is a loving, child-centered program that helps parents better understand their young children’s physical development, needs, and abilities through yoga. Through gentle Itsy Bitsy Yoga poses, songs and activities, parents and young children can develop a deeper bond. Babies as young as 3 weeks and children up to age 5 years enjoy the structured one-on-one interaction IBY provides them and parents gain a toolbox of calming techniques, healthy activities, and supportive friendships through these joyful classes.
Sweet Pea KIDS is a space where children (ages 4.5-8.5 years old) can develop and strengthen their yoga practice in a peaceful, creative, and fun-loving class. In addition to enjoying the variety of beneficial yoga postures that build strong bones, improve flexibility and balance, kids will discover how yoga can be integrated into their everyday lives and interactions beyond the mat. Kids will learn tools for developing mindfulness, cultivating compassion, making healthy life and social choices, calming techniques, and kid-friendly meditation exercises. This is a drop-off class where children learn amongst their peers.
The Fall Semester of Sweet Pea KIDS Yoga starts Wednesday Sept 19th at 4:00pm at BodyScapes. The semester runs 10 weeks, skipping 11/21. And for parents who wish to enjoy the BodyScapes Fitness facilities while their child is in yoga, an optional a discounted fitness pass can be purchased for only $70. Thanks for the post Susan! I look forward to kicking off our newest 7-week yoga session with such a terrific group of local parents, nannies, and kids! It’s a real treat to teach in the community where I live and I’m especially grateful for the support of the two local businesses which host my classes–Theracopia and BodyScapes. We’re lucky to have them both here in our town.
