Substitute teachers and cafeteria workers needed in Southborough

The Southborough schools announced recently they’re looking for substitute teachers and cafeteria workers for the current school year. Both are opportunities to work with kids and help out the schools. If you’re interested, contact the Central Office at 508-486-5115.

The substitute positions are paid ones, but the schools also have opportunities for those looking to volunteer their time. From this year’s back to school newsletter:

The Northborough and Southborough Public Schools invite all members of the community to share their time, talent and expertise with the students in our elementary, middle and high schools. This is a unique opportunity to make a contribution to your community. Library aides, clerical aides, and enrichment and seasonal programs are some examples of on-going services. You may also have a particular skill or interest that you can share. Please contact one of the building principals if you are interested in volunteering.

It is important to note that to substitute teach you must be a certified teacher. You can also be waivered by one of the principals but they prefer (as I have been told) that you be certified as a teacher from the dept of education.
