We haven’t had a hard frost yet this year, and that means the mosquitoes are still out. It also means the town’s outdoor activity ban is still in place, and that’s going to impact a popular Heritage Day event.
In most years, the annual Light-Up Southborough pumpkin viewing runs from 6:00 to 8:30 pm, but this year the viewing will officially end at 6:00 pm in accordance with the outdoor activity ban. Viewing of the pumpkins, which are lined up along the stone wall on Common Street, begins at 4:00 pm. Carved pumpkins can be dropped off at the Southborough Library also starting at 4:00 pm.
Notice I said the viewing will “officially” end at 6:00 pm? I’m told the pumpkins will remain set up and lit into the evening, so residents can view them after hours if they choose to. Just remember to wear long sleeves/pants and apply the DEET.
