Heritage Day 2012 – Schedule of events (UPDATED)

Here’s the Heritage Day schedule of events. The fun starts on Sunday with pumpkin lighting. The main event on Monday kicks off with the annual Heritage Day parade and continues with music, games, and family fun.

A reminder that the Heritage Day Road Race was canceled this year due to low participation, and the pumpkin lighting will officially end early due to the town’s outdoor activity ban. You may also notice there’s no pie-eating contest this year, but Recreation Director Doreen Ferguson promises it will be back next year.

For information on where to park, see this post.

If it rains, is the pumpkin viewing postponed until tomorrow or is it cancelled?

The Friends of the Southborough Library Book Sale is 9-2 and is combined with a Bake Sale. We’ll be selling a variety of treats including pumpkin and banana breads, brownies, bars, and the ever popular cookies.

Anyone who wants to donate to the bake sale can drop pre-wrapped goodies off at the library between 8-9 that morning. We have some delicious donations already, but I’m told we always sell out, so please consider helping.

Another great event this year, the crowds were wonderful to see. I would like to thank Bob & Cathy Elliot and all those that help organize this every year, I know how much work and time goes into such an event. Kudo’s to you all for another success!!
