It’s been a long (really long) election season, but today is the day that counts. Polls in Southborough are open, and will remain so until 8:00 pm. If you need to know where to vote, or who’s on the ballot, see this post.
Massachusetts Secretary of State William Galvin predicted voter turnout today will be about the same as it was four years ago. In 2008, 85% of registered voters in Southborough cast a ballot, compared to the state average of 73%. In that election, 56% of Southborough voters supported Barack Obama. It will be interesting to see how both those numbers compare this time around.
No doubt you’ll be tuned to your favorite news source tonight to hear the results as they come in. I’ll be following along, as well, and will post the Southborough numbers once they’re available, so be sure to check back.
I have to admit……it was nice going to Finn School to vote and not have all the sign holders in your way at the entrance. There was actually a crowd inside which is a great sign that people care about this election.
If I think that my one single vote won’t count, then what am I doing in America? Voting is the most wonderful privilege that a country can have, “Freedom”.
