Southborough is in for its first dose of the white stuff today as a Nor’easter is expected to bring a couple of inches of snow to our area later this afternoon.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for western and central Massachusetts starting at 2:00 pm this afternoon and running through 7:00 am on Thursday, saying snow will spread into the region from south to north reaching the Mass Pike by mid-afternoon. The snow may be followed by a light glaze of freezing rain, which could make for a tricky commute later today.
The other concern is strong winds which could damage trees recently battered by Hurricane Sandy. Forecasters say winds will be in the 10-20 mph range with gusts up to 45 mph. The strongest winds will be on the coast.
