At the Southborough Library this week (11/12/12 – 11/16/12): LEGOs, genealogy, and more

The Southborough Library is closed today for Veterans Day, but there’s plenty happening there the rest of the week. Here is the schedule of events. Visit the Southborough Library website for more information.

Tuesday November 13, 2012

  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am): This program is for children age 2-5 years old and their parents or caregivers. Each story time will feature stories and a craft based on a weekly theme. Drop-in, no registration required.
  • Legos at the Library (3:45 – 5:00 pm): Children age 4 and up are invited to build with Legos at the library. Legos and project ideas will be provided. Parents or caregivers must stay with the children, and all Legos must remain at the library. Drop-in, no registration required.
  • Library Board of Trustees Meeting (6:00 – 7:00 pm): The Board of Library Trustees will meet on Tuesday, November 13, at 6:00 p.m., in a meeting room on the lower level of the Library. Open to the public. December’s meeting will be held on December 18 at 6:00 p.m.

  • Friends of the Southborough Library Meeting (7:30 – 8:45 pm): This month’s meeting will be held a week early, on the 14th, to avoid Thanksgiving week preparations. Join us for a lively discussion on fundraising and programs at the Library. Open to all – new members and long-time members. Every library needs good Friends!

  • Baby and Toddler Time (11:00 – 11:30 am): This program is for children age 0-2 years and their parents or caregivers. Each weekly story time will include puppets, short stories, and music. Drop-in, no registration required.
  • 4th-6th Grade Book Group (6:30 – 7:30 pm): Come join the 4th-6th grade book group to discuss the book How to Train Your Dragon by Cressida Cowell. Pizza and soda will be provided by the Friends of the Library.
  • Southborough Library’s Genealogy Club (7:00 – 8:45 pm): Meet Nancy Prince, who is related to the Bush family (presidents 41 and 43, that is…) and who grew up with genealogist parents. Learn the right questions to ask your relatives while you have the chance – just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday~ we’ll check in on our obituary indexing project, too. These meetings are open to the public, suitable for all ages and all skill levels.
