Santa usually makes his annual visit to Southborough on the first Saturday in December. As you might imagine, the Jolly One is a busy man this time of year, and due to a scheduling conflict, he’ll be visiting us a bit later than normal this year.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 15, and plan to come out and greet Santa when he lands on St. Mark’s field. Here are the details.
On Saturday, December 15, Santa Claus will fly into Southborough for Kindergroup’s 35th Annual Santa Day. Weather permitting, the jolly old elf will land his helicopter on the front field at St. Mark’s School in Southborough (on the corner of Route 85 and Main Street) at noon on Saturday, December 15. Accompanied by his elves, Santa will head to the Southborough Community House from 12-3pm where children can have their picture taken with Santa, sit on his lap and share their Christmas wish lists.
The entrance fee to see Santa at the Community House event is $5 per child or $10 per family, photo included. (We are also requesting that families consider bringing a non-perishable food item for our local food pantry to help those in need this season.) While awaiting their turns, children will have the opportunity to participate in crafts, hear stories, and listen to live holiday music courtesy of Mr. Dave of Garden Music Together. On the way out, families can celebrate the experience with cookies and hot chocolate.
This annual event is organized by Southborough Kindergroup and sponsored by local businesses. Southborough Kindergroup is a cooperative play group for preschool children and their parents. For more information regarding membership, go to www.kindergroup.com.
I can’t beleive it has been 35 years already. Seems like yesterday we were sitting around a kitchen table discussing how to bring Santa back to Southboro. Now I am bringing my Grandson to see Santa. Thanks.
