You may have noticed construction of the community ice skating rink is underway at Woodward School. For the past three winters the Recreation Department has set up a public outdoor rink for recreational skating and ice hockey. The first year the rink was located in Fayville, but since then it’s been at Woodward.
Recreation Director Doreen Ferguson said the boards are in place and the liner is ready to go. All that’s left is some help from Mother Nature. “We just need the weather to cooperate,” she said.
The Recreation Department will make an announcement when the rink is ready to use and will publish a schedule of free skate, youth hockey, and adult hockey hours. I will, of course, bring it to you when it’s available.
