Evelyn “Louise” SHIMKUS, 99, of Englewood, Florida passed away quietly on Monday, December 31, 2012.
Born on May 25, 1913 in Batavia, Iowa she had been a resident of Sarasota County for thirty-three years coming from Southborough, MA.
A loving wife, mother and homemaker for her family she had been employed with Hendries Frozen Food for ten years in Southborough, MA. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and a member of the Women’s Guild, a member of Southern Woman’s Club, and the Choral Group at Foxwood.
She is pre-deceased by her husband, Theodore to whom she was married for fifty-eight years. Survivors include her children: Margaret H. White of Stonington, CT; Michael J. Shimkus of Englewood, FL; Peter E. Shimkus of Southborough, MA; Raymond E. Shimkus of Westborough, MA; six grand children, eleven great grand children and two great-great grand children.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 10:30 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Parish. Interment and a memorial celebration will be announced at a later date to be held in Southborough, MA.
