Southborough police responded to four separate reports of attempted vehicle break-ins on Monday morning, all in the Pine Hill Road area.
In each incident, residents woke to find footprints in the snow around their vehicles. Also in each incident, the vehicle was locked, so the would-be robbers did not gain entry into the car and nothing was stolen.
Two of the reports came from homes on Pine Hill Road, and the other two from Nichols Street and Angelica Lane, which are both side streets off Pine Hill Road.
Police said the fact that all four vehicles were locked is good news. “We are very happy to see that our residents are being vigilant in taking the necessary steps to protect their personal property,” the department wrote on its Facebook page.
Also on Monday, officers responded to a home on Ward Road to investigate a report of a possible attempted break-in after the homeowner found damage to the door jam when returning home from work. The responding officer took a report of the incident.
