Lee A. Carlson, 75, a resident of Southborough for 43 years, died Saturday, March 2, 2013. He was the husband of Carol (Smith) Carlson for the past 51 years.
Born and raised in Framingham, he was the son of the late Gustave H. and Mae (Wheeler) Carlson. Lee graduated from Framingham High School in 1955, the University of Michigan in 1960, and received a Masters of Science in chemistry from Dartmouth College in 1962. He was employed by Avery Dennison in Framingham (formerly Dennison Mfg. Co.) for 34 years in the research and development division. Prior to his retirement, Lee was a technical manager for new products.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his 3 children, Kelly A. Carlson of Knoxville, TN; Kurt A. Carlson and his wife Deirdre of Auburn; Eric L. Carlson of Marlborough; 3 grandchildren, Jacob Carlson of Boston; Conor and Shayleigh Carlson of Auburn; a brother, David W. Carlson of W. Boylston; a sister-in-law, Barbara Carlson of Reynoldburg, OH; 4 nieces, Dawn Porter of Boylston; Cindy Carlson and Cheryl Michaud of NY; Nancy Boehm of OH; a nephew, David G. Carlson of Worcester. He was pre-deceased by his brother Richard Carlson, formerly of Grand Island, NY.
All funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Southborough Rural Cemetery.
