In anticipation of school closings and delays from the winter storm expected to hit overnight tonight, the Massachusetts Department of Education has decided to postpone the MCAS ELA Composition test scheduled for Tuesday. The test was to be administered tomorrow to students in grades 4, 7, and 10.
The test is postponed even for schools that remain open tomorrow. Students at Algonquin, Trottier, and Neary will instead join their peers across the state in taking the exam on Monday, March 25.
Northborough/Southborough Superintendent Charles Gobron announced the MCAS postponement to parents this afternoon, but said the school has not yet made a decision on whether schools will close on Tuesday.
“We do not know for sure what tomorrow’s weather will bring, but it looks like an early morning decision will again be in order,” Gobron wrote.
