Members of the Trottier community have been working with the family of Eric Green to plan a celebration of his life to take place on June 8 at Trottier. Eric passed away suddenly in January 2012 at the age of 12. A seventh grader at Trottier at the time, Eric would have graduated from the school this June.
The celebration will start will music performed by student groups in the Trottier auditorium. Trottier Principal Keith Lavoie said two pieces of music have been commissioned in Eric’s honor. One will be a piece for concert band that Lavoie said will be more solemn and reflective, while the other will be an upbeat jazz piece to reflect Eric’s love of life. Eric was a trumpet player the school’s elite Big Band.
A tree dedication will follow outside on school grounds.
Mr. Lavoie asked me to pass along an invitation to attend to the Southborough community.
On Saturday, June 8, 2013, the Green Family and Trottier Family will join together to celebrate Eric Green’s life and memory.
A committee of Trottier students, parents, and teachers have put together a celebration which will include music, student speakers, tree dedication, and reception.
The committee and Green family completely understand that this is a very busy time of the year and we do not expect that everyone will be able to attend, but if you knew Eric or the family well we would be happy to have you join us.
The ceremony begins at 9:30 am in the Trottier auditorium. For more information, please contact the office at Trottier at 508-485-2400.
