Tired of looking at those discarded fast food bags, soda bottles, and assorted roadside trash as you drive home every day? Why not volunteer to help clean them up during the Annual Earth Day Clean Up event on Saturday, April 27.
Sponsored by Southborough Rotary, the event encourages groups of volunteers to clean up various areas of town. You can sign up in advance and adopt your favorite part of town by calling the DPW at 508-485-1210, or show up the morning of the event and pick a section of town then.
To participate, stop by the Department of Public Works building next to the Transfer Station at 8:30 am on Saturday, April 27. Trash bags will be provided, but you should bring work gloves. Coffee, pastries, and t-shirts will be distributed on a first-come basis.
After the clean up, volunteers are invited to stop by the gazebo on Main Street for pizza, soda, and ice cream.
For those Southboro residents that have used tires to get rid of, Central Mass. Mosquito Control has a free tire recycling program – check this link for more details: http://www.cmmcp.org/tires.htm
