Polls are open in Southborough today for the town’s annual election. There are no contested races, but the two questions you’ll find on today’s ballot are more than enough reason to take a moment to cast your vote.
The two ballot questions ask voters whether the town should expand the Board of Selectmen from three members to five, and whether the town should increase the authority of the town administrator. Both proposals appeared as articles at Town Meeting in April and were overwhelmingly approved by voters there, but a ballot vote is required before they can go into effect. You can read more in this post.
Southborough has three precincts, and each precinct votes at a different location. Don’t know what precinct you’re in? Visit http://www.wheredoivotema.com/.

- Precinct 2: Trottier Middle School, 49 Parkerville Rd. (map)
- Precinct 3: Finn School, 60 Richards Rd. (map)
Polls are open until 8:00 pm. I’ll have the results later tonight, so be sure to check back.
Tom and I just returned from Pricinct 1. As of 10:30 am the five poll workers, nine others and the two of us had voted. This is your opportunity to voice your opinion on a option to improve the structure of your local Town Government.
Janice Conlin.
The polls didn’t open until 8 which is a problem for many working people. I stopped at Trottier at 7:40 on my way to work and was told I would have to wait 20 minutes in order to vote. Sorry, but I had a meeting to get to and couldn’t hang around. Maybe I will come back in the evening.
That’s why the polls are open until 8:00 tonight……so folks like you can get your votes in!
