If you notice some construction around the library this week, you may be wondering what’s happening there. Especially, when you see the shrubs being dug up.
Starting September 30, the DPW and Facilities Departments will be working with outside contractors to repair drains and replace pipes at the Library, and shore up the foundation, to avoid future incidents of flooding in the building.
They plan to remove the bushes on the Main Street side of the building to accomplish this work.
The bushes would be damaged by the excavation, and the decision was made to remove them during the work, and eventually replace them with new shrubs.
