RAP registration begins today, October 21, for the session beginning the week of November 4th.
Registration runs through November 1. But sometimes popular activities fill up quickly. (Alternatively, sometimes if people wait too long to register, the class is cancelled for lack of interest.)
So if there is a session you really want, don’t wait to sign up.
For those of you unfamiliar RAP is the town’s Recreation After-school Programs. They are run by Southborough Recreation (not the schools.)
Most are held at the schools, so kids can go directly to activities. (Note: Students need to be picked up when the activity ends. Exceptions are Trottier students who can take the Late Bus home Tues-Fri, and Extended Day participants.)
The fact that the sessions last only 5 weeks allows kids to explore new interests without long-term commitments.
Activities include a range of sports, games, fun exercise, crafts, science and culture.
The next session offers the following choices:
- Finn: Basketball, Gym Games, Chess, Jr Cheer & Dance, Rainbow Loom, Science Around Us, Acting/Musical, Zumbatonic, Lego Fun, Art in the Fall, Chess, Young Rembrandt, and Martial Arts
- Woodward: Beasties, Dodgeball, Gym Games, Pillo Polo, SNAG, Chess, Fun with Sculptures, Dance Exploration, Basketball, Gadgets and Gizmos, Laws of Motion w/Games and Toys, Kitchen Chemistry, and Chess
- Neary: Pillo Polo, Computer Club Basics of Movie & Film Making, Beasties, Co‐Ed Volleyball, Basketball, FIT workout, Pottery*, and Chess Challenge
- Trottier: FIT workout, Computer Club, Basics of Movie & Film Making, Chess Challenge, Pottery*, and Robotics
*Neary and Trottier Pottery classes will take place at the Arts Center. Transportation there will be provided (except on 1/2 days). Students will need to be picked up from the Arts Center at the end of class.
