It looks like our town may have found a great way to let teens channel the natural desire to challenge authority. At the same time, they can bond with the town’s ultimate authority figures.
Southborough Police officers have teamed up with the Southborough Recreation Department to put on a fun new program.
Hoops Challenge encourages teens to drop in and challenge officers to a game of basketball.
The program is for ages high school to 21. It launches this Friday, November 1.
Drop- in games will take place weekly from 7:00 – 8:30 pm on Fridays in the Woodward School gymnasium. The fee is $2 per player.
The goal is “to build a positive and inter-personal police/student relationship. It also provides teenagers a safe enviroment to hang out, play recreational basketball and to be active.”
