James F. Stockwell, 95, of Southborough died at Metro West Medical Center in Framingham on Sunday, November 10, 2013, after a period of declining health.
Born in Southborough, he was the son of the late James and Minnie (LeGay) Stockwell
Jim was the oldest of 10 children and a 1936 graduate of the former Peter’s High School in Southborough. He was an Army veteran serving in WW II where he earned the bronze star and a purple heart. For over 42 years he worked for General Electric and the former Telechron in Ashland.
Jim was an avid fisherman and was a member of the American Legion, Post 0161 of Southborough.
He is survived by two sisters, Pearl Stockwell, with whom he lived ; Barbara Sabulis of Yarmouth Port; a brother Robert of FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, November 14, from 10:30 to 11:15 at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main St. Southborough, followed by a graveside service at 11:30 at Southborough Rural Cemetery, 11 Cordaville Rd.
