Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School makes the most of Thanksgiving. They use the holiday to show off their Culinary Arts students’ skills while earning dough for the school.
Their bake sale is the Tuesday before Thanksgiving at 9:00 am. They’ll be closing the doors before 1:00 pm if they run out of treats first – so get there early.

Now in its seventh year, the pre-Thanksgiving bake sale at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High will help to make the Thanksgiving holiday just a bit sweeter and a lot less stressful by letting the Culinary Arts students and staff do the baking. Whether you are hosting or being a gracious guest on Thanksgiving weekend, there’s nothing like a yummy dessert and a cup of coffee while you sit and chat after dinner. Imagine that trip over the river and through the woods to the family feast, carrying a beautiful fruit-topped cheesecake, delectable carrot cake, or chocolate cream pie with real whipped cream topping. Complement the meal with fresh bread or dinner rolls, or start the day with some cinnamon coffee cake or breakfast Danish. What a delight when dessert is served, and there are cookies, fruit pies, cream puffs, angel food cakes or French pastries. Don’t forget to save a few brownies as a treat for yourself when that last pot or platter is washed and put away. And if shopping on Black Friday is your thing, start the day with a quick muffin, and then reward yourself with a leftover whoopee pie when you get back home.
The doors to the Epicurean Room restaurant (drive around to the back of the school) will open to the public at 9 AM on Tuesday, November 26th, and will close when the goodies are gone, or 1 PM, whichever comes first. Plan to come early, for every year ends up being a sell out! The prices are reasonable, the bakery items plentiful and varied, and the quality superb! Bring cash or check, no credit cards, please. All items are on a first come, first served basis. There will be some empty boxes available, but you might want to bring a large carry container with you!
