Hot topics in upcoming meetings: Park Central hearing and Main Street project

Every Monday, I share the posted town board and committee meetings for the week. But with a couple of hot button issues on agendas for next week, I decided to give readers a little extra notice.

This week, the Zoning Board of Appeals posted the agenda for their next meeting. A public hearing on the 40B Park Central development is scheduled for this Wednesday, March 26 at 7:30 pm in the Town House Hearing Room:

The applicant is seeking a Comprehensive permit for a 180 unit condominium project and access road

(For past coverage of the project, click here.)

The board will also hear a request to extend the permit for the Stonebrook Village development.

On Monday night, the Advisory Board will be discussing their positions on Town Warrant articles, including the creation and funding of a committee to review the Main Street reconstruction project.

That meeting is scheduled for 7:30 pm in Room B of Cordaville Hall, 9 Cordaville Road. (Click here for agenda.)

In preparation, they asked the Department of Public Works to share a traffic study completed for the Main Street project. That has been added to the other documents on the DPW website.

To be completely honest, the plans and studies are all greek to me. And there has been a lot of heated dialogue on the blog about what the project does and doesn’t represent. So, I’m glad that the DPW will be explaining the project and answering questions in their public meeting.

If you are concerned about the project or want to understand it better, make sure you remember to save the date:

Wednesday, April 2, 2014, 7:00 pm @ 9 Cordaville Road, Southborough Senior Center – Review of the proposed Main Street reconstruction project with the Town and its design consultant.
