Now that the excitement over the big race is dying down, it’s a good time to talk about a race even closer to home that’s raising funds.
If you enjoy running, but not 26 miles, turn your attention to the upcoming Algonquin Regional Race for Education’s 5K and kids races.
The 3rd annual fundraiser features:
- 5K course for any age around the campus of Algonquin and into the cross-country course (9:30 am start) -$20
- 1 mile Kids Race for ages 5-14 on the track and cross-country course (9:00 am start) – $5
- Free Fun Run little kids on the school track (9:05 am)
Awards and Raffle follow the race. All proceeds will go towards 3 school related causes:
- ARTA (Algonquin Regional Teachers’ Association) scholarships
- The Jean Arathuzik Travel abroad scholarship for an Algonquin world language student
- ARHS’ Global Learning Initiative Club in support of Room to Read
