It’s May Day, so of course we have to talk about flowers. And I have the perfect excuse. . .
On Saturday May 10th, the Southborough Gardeners will hold their annual Plant Sale at the Community House (at the corner of routes 30 and 85).
The sale will include a wide selection of annuals, perennials and hanging baskets.
It takes place the day before Mother’s Day – so it’s a great choice for easy gift shopping.
Everything sold will be suitable for spring planting. (And I think we can trust the Southborough Gardeners to know what does well here in the spring!)
The plants are donated by club members, some even transplant from their own gardens. Chairwomen Susan Pyne and Sue Baust shared that some members donate more than 100 plants to the annual sale:
The Gardeners’ contributions of unique and rare plants for this event, year after year, demonstrate a true desire to share their knowledge of gardening with the community. Each year, the Perennial Plant Association’s Plant of the Year is featured at the sale as well.
Sale hours are from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm. But for the best selection, organizers suggest shopping early.
Proceeds from the public sale will support town beautification and the Southborough Gardeners’ Scholarship Fund.
