Library service limitations next week: Computers and Children’s Room (Updated)

This week, Children’s Librarian Kim Ivers made the rounds at schools to talk up the Summer Reading Program. The Children’s Room will be temporarily closed at the end of next week, but reopen in time for the last day of school.

Next week, the Southborough Library will be taking care of some maintenance issues. If you are planning to visit, make note of these service interruptions.

  • On Wednesday, June 18th, the public computers will be unavailable.
  • Thursday – Friday, June 19th – 20th, the Children’s Room will be closed.

Children’s materials can still be returned in the bin or upstairs during the room closure.

If a school talk from “Miss Kim” got your children pumped to visit the library, don’t worry. The Children’s Room will be open in time for the start of the Summer Reading Program on Monday, June 23.

In fact, it could be open sooner. Library Director, Ryan Donovan shared that he is hoping the room may be open for part of Thursday afternoon and again sometime Friday morning. However, maintenance workers can’t promise that.

So to be safe, try to schedule your kids’ weekly library time for Monday – Wednesday next week.

Updated (6/16/14 10:10 am) Fixed typos on times room could be open late this week.

I think this is a very iimportant project we should all support. It is more preferable than babysitting the kids on an x-box.
