St. Mark’s Episcopal Church is working to raise funds for this summer’s youth mission trip.
One of their fundraisers, is “Parents Night Out” this Friday night, June 20th. It takes place 5:00 – 8:30 pm at St. Mark’s Church.
The night’s being ticketed as an Awesome Party for Kids.
Parents are encouraged to leave their 3 year olds through 5th graders in the hands of the youth group and CORI checked parent volunteers.
While Mom and Dad enjoy date night, the kids will:
- play games
- eat pizza
- make crafts
- win prizes
- and more fun!
Fees are based on the number of siblings:
- One child -$30
- Two children – $55
- Three children – $ 70
- Four kids – $ 90
Registration forms must be filled in at “checkout”. For more information, contact Melissa Lobabelle at tobeslabelle@mac.com or 508-481-8278. Or call the church at 508-481-1917.
Proceeds from the event will help fund the youth mission scheduled for next month.
In July, volunteers from the church and youth group will be heading to Newark, NY. (Apparently, that’s not a typo. According to the town’s website, it is a village in Western New York.)
The summer missions allow young parish members to experience putting others ahead of themselves.
Last year, the group traveled to Rutland, VT. 8th grader Megan Romine shared:
The mission trip brought me closer to the Rutland community, the other churches, the youth in my church, and closer to God. I will never forget that week.
You can read more about the group’s mission work in this post from September.
