A rash of burglaries from unlocked vehicles prompted Southborough Police to issue a warning to residents.
At least this time the thefts were apparently just dollar bills and loose change. Two summers ago, police reported thefts from vehicles included valuable electronics.
So, remember to keep your cars and valuables secured.
Here’s the warning from the department Facebook page:
[Tuesday] our officers investigated several motor vehicle break-ins in the Oak Hill Road/ Central Street area. Unknown suspect(s) entered unlocked motor vehicles (no force), taking dollar bills and loose change from within each of the vehicles.
Reported break-ins included vehicles parked on Oak Hill Road, Walnut Drive, Central Street, and Cherry Street. These break-ins are currently under investigation.
If you have any information, please contact Det. Sean McCarthy at (508) 485-2121.
We want to remind our residents to PLEASE LOCK YOUR VEHICLES and BRING ALL VALUABLES INSIDE your home. Also, please share this information with your family, friends, and neighbors in Southborough. Thank you.
