Reminder that next week, there is no public school in Southborough on Tuesday, November 4.
While three of the town’s schools are used for voting in the state election, the district is using it as a professional development day.
If you’re stressing about what to do with your kids, you may be in luck.
You can drop-off your 3 year olds to 5th graders at a fun “Kid’s Day Out”, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm.
The party includes games, snacks, crafts, prizes, and an animated movie.
The fee is $20 per child, with a $3 sibling discount.
If it helps you justify the expense, think of it as a donation. After all, it is a fundraiser for a good cause. St. Mark’s Episcopal Church’s Youth Group is raising money for its next mission trip. (You can read about past mission-work here.)
Teen volunteers will help run the event alongside CORI-checked adults. The event will be held at the church, but is open to entire community.
In addition to the fee, you’ll need to drop off a marked-bagged lunch with each child. And you’ll need to leave a signed permission slip. (You can request a form to be emailed to you in advance.)

What a great idea.. community service to help parents and kids on a non-school day and raising money for a great cause for the youth group at the same time. Good for Melissa and the others.
