It’s time for the annual Scouting for Food drive.
The event unites Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts across town in support of the Southborough Food Pantry.
You’ll be seeing them around town this Saturday posting flyers on mailboxes.
Here is the information that local scouts asked me to share:
Scouting for Food is next week!
On Saturday, November 1st, look out for the flyers that scouts will be hanging on your mailboxes asking for donations for the Southborough Food Pantry. Scouting for Food is the biggest donation event for the Southborough Food Pantry every year. Every November, the pantry shelves go from almost bare to absolutely brimming because of the generosity of the Southborough community.
The flyers will list much needed items, so please read them over and consider donating any non-perishable items from food to cleaning and hygiene supplies. And remember to check the expiration dates! Food items within 3 months of expiration cannot be shelved at the pantry.
On November 8th, the scouts will be coming around to your house to pick up the bags of items you leave by your mailbox. If you miss your scout, you can always bring your items directly to the pantry at Pilgrim Church, which will be bustling with sorting activity through early afternoon.
Thank you for your help this year. Let’s make this a great year for the this event and show the Food Pantry and its patrons how much Southborough cares!
