Tonight’s uncertain snow forecast isn’t the weather report Gobble Wobble organizers were hoping to get.
Right now, the race’s fate lies in the hands of mother nature and the town’s public safety officials.
A decision is expected to be made by tonight about whether to hold or cancel the races. Once that call is made, registered participants will be emailed.
Southborough Recreation will also update its website by tonight. You can check for their announcement there.
And if I hear news, I’ll post an update here on the blog.
Friends of Southborough Recreation put a lot of effort into their biggest annual fundraiser. And 1,200 runners are expected this year. So, let’s keep our fingers crossed for skies and roads to be clear in time.
Assuming the race is greenlit, here’s some information you need:
You can pick up your bib today at the Southborough Recreation Department (South Union Building, 21 Highland Street).
If you haven’t registered yet – online registration is closed. You can register today at the Southborough Recreation Department or Thanksgiving morning, 7:00 am in the Trottier Middle School gym. Click here to open the pdf.
The 5K race and 2K walk are scheduled to begin at 8:30 am. After the race, prizes will be granted to the top 3 male and female runners by Representative Carolyn Dykema.
The free kids fun runs starts at 9:30. It’s for ages 3-11, though broken into smaller groups. (The 3 year olds don’t race against 11 year olds!) To enter kids in the fun run, parents need to complete a registration form.
