Helen (Georgaklis) Meleones, 84, of Fayville, died peacefully at her home on Monday, February 16, 2015, after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. Meleones, who passed away in 2002.
Born in Boston on April 22, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Electra Georgaklis, and sister of the late Louis Georgaklis.
She is survived by her children, Pamela Meleones of Fayville, Tina Desimone and her husband Robert of Sebec, ME, and Gregory T. Meleones of Roxbury; a sister, Betty Georgaklis, of Quincy; her grandchildren, Hunter and Spencer Ann Desimone; and her sisters-in-law, Jenny Zevitas and her husband Nick of Arlington, Denna Magos of Newton, and Rita Zervos and her husband Nick of Everett; and many nieces and nephews.
Helen was a graduate of Girls’ High School in Boston, class of 1947 and Kenneth’s Hair Design in Framingham. She worked as a hairdresser at Countryside Beauty Salon in Southborough for many years before working in customer service at Stop and Shop in Framingham, retiring after 10 years. She was a member of Saints Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church in Marlborough.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 22, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main Street, Southborough.
A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 23, at 10:00 a.m. at Saints Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church, 9 Central Street, Marlborough. Burial will follow in Southborough Rural Cemetery.
