The Friends of the Southborough Youth Commission are seeking new volunteers.

It’s a worthy organization. So if you are looking to do more to support the community, check out their announcement:

The Friends of the Southborough Youth Commission is seeking interested people to be involved in planning and/or helping with fundraising activities to help support Southborough Youth and Family Services.

Friends currently is focusing on fundraising at the upcoming Summer Concert Series. New ideas, as well as helping hands, are VERY welcome!

Friends is a private non-profit organization which uses its funds to support the work of the town department and to provide assistance to families which is not covered by the Town department and policy, such as camperships, funds for heating oil or food to families in need, and Christmas gifts to children who otherwise would not receive any presents. Youth and Family Services is unable to provide these kinds of services without the support of Friends.

We are holding an open meeting on Thursday, April 23 at 7pm. The meeting will be held at Youth and Family Services offices, 42 Central Street (across from Fayville Park).

If you are interested in volunteering for Friends of the Southborough Youth Commission, please email Stacie Zelaya at staciezelaya@gmail.com or phone at 774-249-1387.

You can learn more about the organization through the profile they wrote for the blog. You can also check out their About page here.
