Normally, I don’t post on the weekends. But I know some of you do your shopping now – so I wanted to give you a heads up on news from The United Parishes of Southborough Food Pantry.
Next Saturday, Southborough postal carriers are once again taking part in the nation’s largest single-day food drive.
Items collected in Southborough as part of the National Association of Letter Carriers’ 23rd Annual Stamp Out Hunger event will go directly to the Southborough Food Pantry.
You can help by leaving a bag containing non-perishable foods next to your mailbox prior to your normal mail delivery on Saturday, May 9. (To help with that, carriers should be leaving bags in mailboxes this week.)
Local letter carriers will collect the donations as they deliver the mail and take them to the food pantry at Pilgrim Church.
Your donations will help the residents of Southborough and members of its churches who are struggling to put food on their tables every day.
Please be sure to check expiration dates. The food pantry cannot take expired items.
