Open discussion thread: Ask questions, share opinions

It’s time for another open thread. What’s on your mind this week, Southborough?

For those of you new to the blog, the open discussion thread is your place to ask questions, sound off on town issues, or share information with other readers. Here are some suggestions to get you started:

  • Ask questions about programs in town or the town itself
  • Post a note about things that you’re selling or giving away, or things that you want
  • Share notices about upcoming events (Southborough or otherwise)
  • Register your thoughts on town issues or news stories
  • Point out interesting or helpful resources

You can add comments to the thread throughout the week. Check back often to see new comments. (If you read the blog via email or RSS, you might want to check the site from time to time for new comments.)

I love my town but am wondering when they are going to fix the roads?? I’ve hit some bad potholes recently.

I recently saw a few guys painting lines around trouble areas on roads all around town. I think in the near future we’ll see the roads repaired.

Looks like soon, at least for some. There are spray painted lines around a number of the worse spots on 85 and a few other roads. I’m assuming those lines are indicators that they are going to replace those spots soon. Not sure how extensive the repairs are across town, but it does look like they are starting the process.

The Algonquin Regional High School girl’s lacrosse teams will hold a car wash and bake sale from 9am – 2:30pm this Saturday at the Transfer Station.

The girls are raising money to pay the $2,600 it cost to rent indoor practice space used for their tryouts this spring.

Thank you!

Does anyone know the laws concerning dogs on leashes in Southborough. There is this beautiful big black dog around Middle Road that is always off it’s leash.

I took this from the Animal Control Officer website:
LEASH LAW
All dogs in Southborough must be in control at all times. All dogs found to be in violation and picked up by the Animal Control Officer will be subject to a fine of $15.00 plus boarding fees.
