Southborough Youth & Family Services and Southborough Recreation Department are teaming up for the third year to put on the Summer Concert Series.
The season kicks off next Thursday with the new Nashville sound of the headlining New City Cowboys. When the boys take an intermission, Algoncapella (Algonquin’s co-ed a capella group) will step up to entertain.
Concerts are held 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Neary field. (So bring your blanket/chairs and bug spray!)
Concessions this summer will again support Send a Kid to Camp. What’s new this summer is that they are working to feature a different sponsoring Southborough restaurant for each concert.
First up is Subway with assorted sandwiches. Also for sale: hot dogs, snacks beverages, and ice cream.
Four more concerts are scheduled for Thursdays throughout the summer:
- July 9 – Reminisants (oldies and requests)
- July 23 – 4EverFab (Beatles. . . nicely played)
- August 6 – Infractions (horn driven pop and rock)
- August 20 – Hit the Bus (50’s to today’s hits)
Rain dates are the following weeks. To check on status, call 508-485-0710 and press 8.
The series is supported by the Southborough Cultural Arts Council, Friends of Southborough Youth Commission, and Southborough Recreation and other sponsors (click flyer for more info.)
