Introducing Southborough’s Economic Development Coordinator

Last spring, Town voters approved the budget to hire a professional dedicated to Southborough’s economic development. This month, the Town is boasting the news of their new hire.

Pam DiGiovanni, formerly of MassDOT, has “over 13 years’ experience with economic and community development, outreach, project management and program development within the public sector.”

DiGiovanni will be responsible “for working to enhance the economic vitality of the business community and build its collaboration with the town and community.”

In the Town’s press release, Town Admistrator Mark Purple welcomed the new hire:

We are excited to welcome Pam to our team. She brings a real passion and experience for economic development. I appreciate Town Meeting funding this new position, and I believe Pam is going to be able to help the Town further its efforts to strengthen the relationship between Town Hall and our local businesses.

EDC Chair Dave McCay was also quoted:

We are very pleased to have Pam join our team. The EDC’s core mission is to enhance Southborough’s business tax base to provide property tax relief to our residential taxpayers.
