Fire Dept updates: Crashes, training, and outreach

The Southborough Fire Department posted some news to Facebook worth sharing.

The first of the month was a rough start with two serious accidents resulting in injuries bookending the day:

Yesterday, group 1 on duty started their shift with a motor vehicle accident at 08:15. This was located at Rt 30 at Kallander Drive. One patient transport to UMASS Medical.

Group 1 on duty. Last night at approximately 21:00 hrs crews responded to Rt 9 at Middle Road for a car the collided with the jersey barrier. One person transport to Metrowest Framingham with minor injuries.

On a lighter note, the department participated in last week’s Jr. Police Academy:

Captain Mark Sadowski, along with FF Chris Delarda, FF Edgar Vigil and FF Eoin Bohnert, assisted the Southborough Police Department Junior Police Academy with a motor vehicle extrication demonstration today. The students were shown the tools, techniques and process that are used to remove a victim who may become trapped in a vehicle crash.
