The school district sent out it’s annual back to school newsletter this week.
As usual, it’s a long one. So, for those of you who haven’t found the time to read it, I’ll share some highlights.
First, a reminder about school events taking place today and tomorrow.
- Open Houses – Today, Monday, August 31: Students can visit their classrooms with families. Parents can meet the teachers and familiarize themselves with the school.
- Kindergarten and Preschool – 2:30 – 4:00 pm
- First Grade – 3:30 – 4:30 pm
- Second Grade – 3:00 – 4:00 pm
- Third Grade – 4:30 – 5:30 pm
- Neary School’s Welcome Back Ice Cream Social – Tuesday, September 1, 5:00 – 7:00 pm: A party for students and families to celebrate the start of the school year.
Now, here is a little news from each of our town’s public schools:
- Finn School – Last spring, the school successfully completed the rigorous reaccreditation process for NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children). The school will continue to review practices to maintain the required high standards.
- Woodward School – The school will continue its popular Wake Up and Work Out program before school on Tuesday and Friday mornings (8:00 – 8:45 am).
- Neary School – This year the school is welcoming a new partnership with New England Center for Children.
- Trottier Middle School – We welcome Southborough Access Media to its new home at Trottier. We installed a permanent art exhibit sponsored by Southborough Organization for Schools (SOS) and a new Technology Education space for our students. We will also be engaging our 6th graders in a 2:1 mobile computing experience with Chromebooks and iPads. On top of it all, we are introducing a new master schedule
- Algonquin Regional High School –
When does the Wake up and Work out begin?
Just got the official word. It will start next Tuesday, September 8.
