Residents in the neighborhood of Parmenter and Pine Hill roads have been telling the town their roads and intersection are dangerous. Now, they have a doozy of an example.
Southborough Wicked Local reports that an allegedly under the influence driver crashed into a utility pole by the intersection and shattered it. He then fled the scene, causing police to bring in a police dog:
Police got a call about a crash and found a Ford Ranger “lodged into a utility pole,” the lieutenant said.
“The pole was shattered,’ said James. “There was no operator at the scene.”
Southborough Police, along with assistance from Marlborough Police Officer Kenneth McKenzie and his tracking dog, Kaiser, found [the Marlborough man] hiding in the woods, James said.
Police arrested [the suspect] and charged him with driving under the influence of liquor, driving to endanger and leaving the scene of an accident.
